Paul Austin to address cyber crime at CDR’s Autumn Litigation Symposium

The British government has designated cyber crime a Tier 1 threat to the UK which is the same ranking given to international terrorism.

The lack of geographical and jurisdictional boundaries makes cyberspace an inherently complex legal regime in which to investigate online crime and it is little wonder that whilst there has been a drop of 90% in traditional bank heists in the last 20 years, a recent Office of National Statistics survey suggested that in 2015, there could have been up to 7.5 million cyber offences committed against individuals in the UK.
