Enyo Law's experience, expertise and in-depth industry knowledge enables us to provide commercial solutions to the factually and legally complex problems that often face the insurance and reinsurance market.
A number of our team have spent significant time at major insurance and reinsurance practices in the City, with several having completed in-house secondments at leading insurers and brokers. One of our senior members has held an executive position at a global reinsurance company, and is also frequently appointed to act as arbitrator in reinsurance arbitrations in London and the US.
Across the team, we have been involved in many of the most significant issues affecting the insurance and reinsurance markets over the last 20 years, including the demise of the HS Weavers Pool, the Rutty Pool, and the formation of Equitas. We have acted for a broad range of London market and overseas clients, including policyholders, insurers, cedents, reinsurers and retrocessionaires, in both the live and run-off markets, and in connection with a complex and varied range of coverage and recoveries disputes, raising issues of policy construction, aggregation, notification, occurrence, jurisdiction, limitation, and insolvency to name but a few.
We also have extensive experience dealing with insurance regulators around the world, and advising in relation to settlements and commutations. Our work extends across a range of classes of business and sectors, including manufacturing, construction, property, aviation, environmental pollution, product liability, professional indemnity and energy.
Although we make frequent appearances in the High Court and Appellate Courts in London, we also have a successful track record acting in complex and often high value insurance and reinsurance arbitrations, both ad hoc and institutional.
We are uniquely placed to offer skilled and pragmatic advice, guidance and insight to all insurance and reinsurance market participants, whether from the companies, Lloyd’s or broker markets, live or run-off, from London or further afield.
